Comply with airport and regulatory standards, including those related to equipment operation, maintenance, and safety protocols.
Ensure that all bags are delivered to the appropriate location in a timely manner, minimizing delays.
Collaborate and coordinate with other BNP Associates staff members.
Continuously monitor the baggage handling system for performance, ensuring that all components are functioning properly.
Investigate root causes of jams and implement measures to prevent recurrence.
Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and technical issues in real-time.
Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repairs performed, including parts used, hours worked, and any incidents or issues.
Perform emergency repairs as needed to minimize system downtime.
Manage and maintain accurate inventory of spare parts.
Adhere to all safety guidelines and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.
Coordinate with airport operations personnel to ensure the efficient and timely handling of baggage.
Quickly respond to and clear baggage jams or blockages that may occur in the system.
Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance of the baggage handling system, including conveyors, sorting machines, motors, Motor Control Panels and other related components.
Identify, diagnose, and repair mechanical and electrical issues that may arise within the system.
Provide daily/monthly baggage reports to the airport operations team on system performance, repairs completed, and any ongoing concerns at the monthly consortia meeting.
Troubleshoot electrical and IT system issues with support from OEM hotline.
Work closely with other members of the airport maintenance and TSA teams to address issues and improve overall system performance.

Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire.
Ability to quickly diagnose and repair system malfunctions under pressure.
Familiarity with conveyor systems and related equipment is preferred.
High School Diploma or GED: A basic requirement, as it provides foundational knowledge needed for technical roles.
Strong troubleshooting skills for both electrical and mechanical systems.
A solid understanding of both mechanical and electrical systems is important since baggage handling systems often involve a combination of motors, gears, belts, and electrical control systems.
Ability to operate hand tools, diagnostic equipment, and other tools related to maintenance.
This is a part-time position: Saturday – Sunday, from 5 am – 1 pm, with the requirement to be on call outside of regular business hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
The successful candidate must pass criminal background checks and screening to obtain airport security badges.
Industry-specific certifications (e.g., those related to safety standards, equipment repair, or machinery operation) is preferred.
Compliance with all US mandatory employer contributions
Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
Completion of a relevant program in mechanical engineering, industrial maintenance, or similar fields. Specialized training in baggage handling systems, conveyor belts, and automation equipment is a significant advantage.
