As a Heavy Equipment Operator on the Big Island, you will run excavators and loaders for mass excavation, trenching, grading, and site development, execute precise cuts and fills using GPS systems, and conduct daily equipment inspections while maintaining a safe, organized jobsite.
Success in this role requires at least three years of experience operating heavy equipment in civil or mass‑excavation environments, strong proficiency with excavators or loaders, solid knowledge of grading and trenching, and the ability to work safely, efficiently, and independently. Strong communication and a teamwork mindset are also essential.
Highly preferred qualifications include a valid CDL with a clean driving record, experience on prevailing‑wage or public‑works projects, and familiarity with GPS machine‑control technology such as Trimble Earthworks. These qualifications enhance safety and efficiency on the job.
