Under general direction, the engineer demonstrates a comprehensive understanding of engineering principles and independently develops solutions. Technical guidance is provided for complex problems, and the engineer may lead small‑medium non‑critical projects or support critical projects under senior supervision, while also providing direction to other staff.
Key responsibilities include applying technical standards to address complex design issues, creating and maintaining technical documentation, and delivering ongoing support for operations, maintenance, testing, diagnostics, and regulatory activities. The engineer may oversee field activities such as commissioning and inspections, coordinate critical project phases, assist with bid preparation, and partner with supply chain, legal, and other functions.

The position offers three level tiers: Entry Engineer (salary $68,300‑$86,500) requiring an ABET‑accredited engineering degree and 0+ years experience, with EIT/FE preferred; Staff Engineer (salary $79,800‑$103,666) needing a degree (electrical preferred) and at least two years of relevant experience; and Senior Engineer (salary $94,600‑$126,134) demanding five or more years of experience, EIT/FE certification, and PE registration may be required.
Preferred experience includes work with combustion turbines or reciprocating engines, especially Siemens simple‑cycle turbines, as well as design work on utility‑scale wind, solar, or battery storage projects. Experience in sizing equipment, cabling, and overseeing construction and commissioning of such facilities is highly valued.
