The position supervises a team of 20 + assembly employees, coordinating daily activities, workload priorities and manpower levels to meet customer order deadlines. It involves interfacing with managers and supervisors from other departments, reviewing production schedules, ensuring materials are available on the shop floor, and reporting equipment malfunctions to the Production Manager.
Key duties include training staff, implementing process improvements from the quality management system, motivating workers to achieve goals, analyzing and resolving work problems, enforcing safety regulations, and interpreting company policies. The role also supports a positive workplace culture that encourages individual ideas and pride in the product.
Successful candidates demonstrate a broad competency set: problem‑solving, technical skill development, clear oral and written communication, teamwork, leadership, quality‑focused mindset, adaptability, punctuality, initiative, planning and organizing, and a strong safety and security awareness.
Required qualifications are an associate degree or equivalent technical training plus six months to one year of related experience, ability to read and write technical documents, basic math and reasoning skills, and proficiency with manufacturing equipment and Microsoft Office. The supervisor must be able to work the scheduled shift of 6:00 am‑4:30 pm Monday‑Thursday and up to 10 hours on Friday and Saturday as needed.
The work environment includes exposure to moving mechanical parts, heights, fumes, electrical shock risk and moderate noise. Physical demands involve standing, walking, lifting up to 100 lb, climbing, kneeling and using fine motor skills.
