Core responsibilities include conducting NDT inspections using methods such as VT, UTT, PT, and MT, and accurately interpreting and reporting the results. The technician provides support to Level III staff, instructs and/or supervises trainees, and performs additional assignments as directed by the supervisor. All activities are performed in line with safety standards and company procedures.
The company is hiring an NDE Technician – Level II for its Baton Rouge location. The non‑exempt role reports to the Area Manager, performs nondestructive inspection of materials, parts, components, and pressurized systems, interprets test data, maintains equipment, and supervises NDE activities in accordance with applicable codes. The technician also develops procedures and carries out complex duties within established guidelines.
Candidates must have at least a high school diploma or equivalent and hold valid NDE certifications relevant to the position. A TWIC card is required, and applicants must be able to pass a background check and drug test. The role demands strong attention to detail, a commitment to safety compliance, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced, turnaround environment. Documentation of certifications and a resume must be provided at the time of application.
The position requires physical tasks such as climbing ladders, scaffolds, and structures, maintaining balance, reaching in all directions, and handling objects weighing 30‑50 lb. Employees must be able to stand, sit, walk, and use basic mathematical skills while following written or oral instructions, plans, and blueprints. Vision and hearing, with or without correction, are necessary, as is the ability to recognize and report safety hazards. Coordination of eyes, hands, and fingers to operate tools and equipment is essential.
