In this role, the engineer will support the planning, design, and construction administration of water, wastewater, and municipal infrastructure projects, performing site visits, preparing reports, assisting with permitting, and providing field services.
- Assist in planning, design, and construction administration of water, wastewater, and municipal infrastructure projects.
- Conduct site visits, surveys, inspections, and compile data for utility infrastructure projects.
- Prepare reports, design plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
- Review subdivision, land development, grading, zoning, stormwater management, and erosion control plans.
- Prepare federal, state, and local permit applications.
- Perform construction observation and field engineering services.
- Prepare grant and funding applications.

Ideal candidates are recent (Spring 2026) graduates holding a BS in Civil, Chemical, Mechanical, or Environmental Engineering, with 0‑2 years of related experience, basic AutoCAD skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office, strong communication abilities, teamwork orientation, and the ability to obtain EIT certification within six months.
Preferred qualifications include experience with municipal or private utilities, progressive involvement in evaluation, design, permitting, and construction administration, and familiarity with BIM, Civil 3D, GIS, hydraulic/hydrologic modeling, and other specialty software.
- BS in Civil, Chemical, Mechanical, or Environmental Engineering.
- 0‑2 years of water/wastewater engineering experience.
- Basic proficiency in AutoCAD or equivalent software.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Strong written and verbal communication for client presentations and reports.
- Team player with strong planning and organizational skills.
- Physically able to work in the field (climb ladders, hike, lift 25 lb).
- Pass the Fundamentals of Engineering exam or obtain EIT certification within 6 months of hire.
- Experience with municipal and private utilities.
- Experience in evaluation, design, permitting, and construction administration of infrastructure improvements.
- Knowledge of BIM, Civil 3D, GIS, hydraulic/hydrologic modeling, and specialty engineering software.
