What you would be doing

Compose letters, memoranda, reports, applications and studies
Assist with preparing bid plans and specifications
Provide design and construction observation services on municipal capital improvement projects
Review subdivision and land development plans for compliance with applicable municipal ordinances
Prepare prompt and accurate daily field reports summarizing daily field operations/installations, plan deviations, and corrective actions.
Promptly report exceptions or deviations from approved plans, specifications, and/or construction issues to project manager, construction contractor supervisor, and/or other appropriate party
Communicate on a regular basis with the project manager
Observe construction activities and document conformance with approved construction drawings/plans, project requirements, standards, and specifications.
Assist Project Engineer/Project Manager to maintain established relationships with Municipal clientele.
Assist with preparing Federal and State regulatory permit applications and plans

Experience in municipal engineering plan reviews and infrastructure design
Possess the ability to accurately read and understand project plans, details, and specifications and ability to convey the design intent to subcontractors and other field personnel
Ability to work additional and/or nonstandard hours, as required
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related area
Ability to work independently and as part of a project team
First Aid Training
Demonstrates the highest degree of ethical behavior and candor
Exceptional oral and written communication skills including the ability to compose letters and complex reports and to orally communicate technical information to others in public presentations
Possess a valid driver's license and own vehicle
Organized and detailed oriented with excellent interpersonal skills
Ability to multi-task, prioritize, stay focused, set clear milestones and execute diverse projects simultaneously
Travel required
Ability to understand complex problems and to collaborate and explore alternative solutions
Ability to interpret specifications, working drawings and convey intent to contractor
Certifications in NICET, NECEPT, ACI, Traffic Signal Inspector, etc.
Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, AutoCAD (preferably Civil 3D) and hydraulics/hydrology software
Night and weekend work required
Trench/Ladder Training

40-Hour OSHA Training
