Cloud Governance Manager

We are seeking a Cloud Governance Manager to lead the development and enforcement of governance frameworks, policies, and standards to safeguard sensitive data, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive operational efficiency.

• Data Retention & Classification: Enforce controls for compliance and business needs.
• Governance Frameworks: Develop and implement policies using tools such as Microsoft Purview Information Protection, Data Lifecycle Management, Data Loss Prevention, iManage Threat Manager, and Varonis.
• Can you share an example of translating technical requirements into business solutions?
• Collaboration: Work with legal, IT, and compliance stakeholders to design secure solutions.
• Training & Enablement: Provide best practice guidance to business teams.
• Cloud Expertise: Act as a governance leader for Office 365 and other cloud platforms.
• Security & Privacy Controls: Validate and review controls to protect sensitive data.

Cloud Governance Manager – Remote (with Office Flexibility)

This is an individual contributor role — ideal for someone with strong technical expertise in cloud governance and data protection, combined with the ability to translate complex requirements into practical solutions across the business.

📍 Location: Remote (Preference for candidates within commuting distance to: Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles, New York City, Orange County, Palo Alto, San Diego, San Francisco, or Washington DC)

• Do you hold certifications such as CISA, CISM, CISSP, CRISC, or GSEC?
• 7+ years in IT, information security, and risk management.
• How have you applied frameworks like NIST, CSF, ISO 27001 in past roles?
• Highly regulated industry experience preferred.
• Are you authorised to work in the US without visa sponsorship?
• Proven experience with Microsoft Purview and related governance tools.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
• Have you worked in a highly regulated industry (legal, financial services, healthcare, government)?
• Familiarity with frameworks: NIST, CSF, ISO 27001.
• Which of these have you worked with extensively: Microsoft Purview, Data Lifecycle Management, DLP, iManage Threat Manager, Varonis?
• Professional certifications (CISA, CISM, CISSP, CRISC, GSEC) are a plus.
• Do you have 7+ years of IT, information security, and risk management experience?
• Broad technical knowledge of cloud security, data governance, and security architectures.
• Strong project management & risk management skills.

💰 Salary: $123,000 – $159,500 + Bonus & Full Benefits
