Evaluates, selects, and applies standard engineering methods, techniques, procedures, and criteria, using independent judgment in making adaptations and modifications. Performs engineering tasks, within a discipline, having some degree of complexity. Performs assignments, which have clear and specific objectives and require the investigation of a limited number of variables for an engineering discipline within a global business unit.
Directly performs the work includes the preparation of layouts, study drawings, nozzle orientations detailed 2-D and 3-D Computer Aided Design (CAD) design models and construction drawings.
Monitors and checks work for compliance with approved design standards to provide quality design, reliable/safe plant operation and construction economy.
Prepares design and drafting procedures to standardize design effort. Coordinates to resolve problems and interpret drawings and documents. Reviews or defines engineering scope changes, as required, for project management. Supports the creation of a work environment that fosters openness, trust, communication, teamwork, empowerment, innovation, and satisfaction.
Participates in the operation of a small size design group in a discipline. Requires a good knowledge of design and drafting techniques, engineering drawings, SP3D/Revit, 2-D and 3-D CAD, reading of drawings and reproduction methods used by the discipline.
Broad progressive work experience in design engineering, science or other relevant types of engineering such, field engineering or engineering/construction firms.
Understands the inter disciplinary coordination on the project. Follows ES&H guidelines.
Knowledge & experience of SP3D/Revit modelling is mandatory for this position.
Minimum 5 Years of experience as Piping Layout Engineer .
A recognized degree in a job-related engineering or scientific discipline from an accredited college or university, or a professional license in an appropriate engineering or scientific discipline from a recognized licensing board, or specialized courses in relevant general engineering, design or science or an appropriate engineering discipline.
Broad knowledge of industry/regulatory codes and standards and design criteria pertinent to the discipline. Knowledge of systems, calculations, equipment, applications of methods, plant layout and piping materials for development of piping deliverables. Knowledge and understanding of technical and cost issues related to selection of design features within the discipline. Knowledge of precedents in the discipline and of principles and practices of related disciplines. Knowledge of related construction practices and the economics involved.
Experience of working on OG&C, Semiconductor, Data Center, Mining & Metal or Power projects will be an additional advantage
Knowledge of BIM and Plant 3D applications will be an added advantage.
