Leasing Associate

Description

• Perform all sales and leasing activities (greet and qualify prospects, tour property and amenities).
• Ensure property and show units meet company standards; communicate upkeep needs with Property Manager and Maintenance Team.
• Record all telephone and in‑person traffic per company policy.
• Ensure applications are completed per company policy.
• Ensure leases are completed per company policy.
• Ensure move‑in process is completed per company policy.
• Ensure renewal process is completed per company policy.
• Ensure move‑out process is completed per company policy.
• Use on‑site property software to track apartment availability.
• Monitor market trends and competitor conditions; prepare market survey.
• Design marketing plan and activities to drive traffic to the property.
• Complete outreach marketing and record all marketing efforts.
• Utilize internet platforms for marketing, including Craigslist, Google, and other search engines.
• Distribute newsletters, flyers, and resident notices.

Requirements

The Leasing Associate reports to the Community Manager, Assistant Community Manager, and/or Regional Property Supervisor and does not supervise other staff. Success in this position requires the ability to perform essential duties such as sales activities, property presentation, and compliance with company policies.

Candidates must hold a high school diploma or equivalent and have at least one year of leasing or sales experience, along with customer‑service skills, solid communication, basic math, and familiarity with property management software and Fair Housing Laws.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum one year of experience in apartment leasing and/or sales.
• Leasing or customer‑service experience (e.g., retail sales, hospitality).
• Effective reading, writing, and communication skills for documents and resident interaction.
• Ability to generate leads, conduct presentations, qualify prospects, and close sales.
• High‑school‑level math skills for prorated rents and deposits.
• Proficiency with property management software and Microsoft Office for reports and marketing materials.
• Basic knowledge of Fair Housing Laws.
