Site Engineer - Building (Fit Out)

Description

The Site Engineer – Building (Fit‑Out) provides on‑site engineering services and technical support, ensuring short‑term planning and programming align with site supervision. The role focuses on compliance, design input, cost management, risk controls, and reporting on performance and quality.

• Ensure works comply with technical specifications, legislation, approvals, standards, and JHG SQE Risk Management process
• Conduct overall job planning and programming for short‑range and intermediate construction activities
• Input information, perform minor on‑site design, and recommend design changes to ease construction
• Exercise professional judgement to resolve engineering issues related to methods, design, and procedures
• Verify subcontractors' claims and variations
• Undertake cost controlling and estimating as required by the Site Manager
• Maintain drawing register controls for the project
• Implement and communicate risk controls and actions for project delivery
• Report on project performance, compliance, defects and non‑conformance
• Conduct safety, environment and quality risk assessments to ensure acceptable structure and finish quality

Requirements

• Demonstrate financial management skills, reduce costs and meet budgets
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, Building Construction, Construction Management or equivalent
• 2–4 years post‑graduation engineering experience, preferably with a tier‑1 or large tier‑2 contractor
• Mandatory building sector experience; health/hospital experience advantageous
• Construction management and fit‑out technical skills
• Ability to plan, develop and review complex projects
• Experience implementing audit processes and schedules
• Proficiency with document/record management and performance reporting
