Schedule and allocate dock space, ensuring smooth and timely delivery flow.
Enforce safety policies and conduct regular inspections per OSHA/WHMIS/CCOHS standards.
Maintain certification and inspection records; participate in Joint Health & Safety Committee (JHSC).
If driving a company-provided vehicle: coordinate hands and feet, incorporating vision and hearing, to drive safely.
Supervise loading/unloading and coordinate inbound/outbound shipments with drivers, tenants, and property management.
Train dock users on safe loading, unloading, and material handling procedures.
Communicate effectively with drivers, vendors, and management; resolve issues promptly and maintain accurate dock activity logs.
Manage residential move-ins/outs, deliveries, and assist with waste preparation for pickup.
Train and support dock staff, promoting teamwork and operational efficiency.
Regularly required to stand and move; use hands to grasp, squeeze, finger, handle, and feel; reach, push, and pull with hands and arms; twist; reach overhead; stoop, kneel, squat, bend, and crouch.
Ensure readiness for specialized services (e.g., grease trap extraction) and document damaged shipments.
Maintain cleanliness and order of dock areas; monitor and report maintenance needs.
Inspect and report dock equipment, overhead doors, and loading facilities for maintenance or replacement.

Regularly required to climb and descend stairs and ladders.
Experience in dock or warehouse operations, preferably in a commercial or retail environment.

Experience with inventory tracking software.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing demands.
Strong understanding of loading dock safety and logistics processes.
Physical ability to perform tasks associated with loading and unloading (lifting, standing, moving).
Regularly lift, carry, and move up to 50 pounds.
Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and depth perception.
Basic knowledge of warehouse management systems
