Maintain the highest level of quality control for deliverables, demonstrating technical excellence, objectivity, and clarity while maintaining and advancing projects.
Design and specification of HVAC, electrical, or building automation/controls
Building and energy modeling/simulation tools (e.g. eQUEST, EnergyPro)
Review submissions of energy saving upgrade projects, including reports, savings calculations, and project documentation, to ensure accuracy, consistency, and alignment with program requirements.
Develop and update efficiency measures for the program and support other program enhancing improvements. Support may include completing economic analysis, collaborating with other functional groups, and/or developing calculations to quantify energy impacts of new program measures.
Communicates, coordinates, and assists project stakeholders and participants including program staff, contractors, and utility customers to help ensure customers are maximizing the benefits of utility programs.
Conduct site visits to verify installation and operation of replacement energy efficient equipment.
Assist contractors and customers to select appropriate energy efficiency equipment that would qualify for equipment rebates from the utility.

An understanding of electric energy using systems of commercial and industrial facilities including equipment controls and optimization and/or sustainability practices
Experience calculating energy savings for commercial HVAC and/or industrial process energy efficiency improvements
Bachelor's degree in engineering (mechanical, electrical or chemical engineering preferred)
Must have a valid U.S. driver's license and have a personal vehicle to visit customer sites
Must be located in or willing to relocate to the greater Chicago, IL area within 30 days of acceptance
Must be comfortable travelling in Northern IL
Familiarity with relevant energy efficiency codes and standards (e.g. ASHRAE 90.1, IECC, Code of Federal Regulations etc.)
P.E., C.E.M., and/or LEED AP BD+C® certification (or on track to receive) is highly desirable
Strong proficiency with oral communication, writing, and analytical skills. Planning, coordinating, organization, and self-management in a professional environment a must.
1-3 years of experience (within the energy efficiency or building efficiency industry preferred)
