  • Trains the customer in control systems operations including obtaining customer training form, providing training certificates.
  • Design and program control sequences for HVAC and BAS applications using Distech's EC-gfxProgram
  • Utilize pre-engineered applications from the gfxApplications library to accelerate the programming of standard equipment (e.g., VAVs, AHUs, RTUs)
  • Interfaces with service manager, service project manager or subcontractors on projects to coordinate activities as required in an ethical and professional manner. Reports problems or changes to management immediately.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and test programming logic using the EC-gfxProgram's real-time debugging tools and emulator mode
  • Communicates with customer upon arrival and before leaving the work site. Meets regularly with customer to become familiar with operating problems. Keeps customer informed on the nature of service provided, outstanding issues and recommends system enhancements, upgrades, and or replacement. Promotes the sale of add-on work.
  • Conducts extensive self-study (reading, research and practice) to improve and maintain technical proficiency in company's product lines. Completes certifications as required by the company.
  • Integrate Distech controllers with multi-protocol platforms like Niagara Framework (EC-NetAX), utilizing BACnet and LonWorks protocols
  • Performs preventative and predictive maintenance service activities to ensure optimal performance of system.
  • Completes, compiles and submits job documentation such as commissioning documentation, punch lists, etc. Marks up controls submittals to capture field changes and discrepancies for engineering to create As-Builts.
  • Assists sales by providing technical recommendations for sales leads and proposals for retrofits, upgrades and or enhancements to existing equipment. May assist with job layout.
  • Create custom blocks and code snippets for repetitive sequences to improve programming efficiency
  • Performs start up, checking, testing, system diagnostics and commissioning from system-level controllers to end devices for small to medium sized new or retrofit projects.
  • Create and customize applications using the built-in library of function blocks (e.g., HVAC, logic, math, comparators)
  • Performs and executes assigned work efficiently and professionally.
  • Work with graphic design and visualization interfaces like Niagara Framework to provide end-users with interactive dashboards.
  • Completes and submits timely electronic documentation including but not limited to time sheets, expense reports, and on-site documentation.
  • Develop and modify control logic to meet specific project requirements and optimize building performance

  • Certifications: Distech Controller Specific Certification and Niagara 4 TCP Certification preferred
  • Valid Driver's license with a clean record.
  • Niagara Framework familiarity: Experience with Tridium Niagara (N4) is a core requirement
  • Ability to write, create, load, test and commission programming software and graphics utilizing various programming languages and software.
  • BAS and HVAC knowledge: A strong understanding of Building Automation Systems, HVAC sequences of operation, control theory, and mechanical systems is essential
  • Effective interpersonal skills to represent the company to customers and other outside contacts in an ethical and professional manner.
  • Troubleshooting skills: Strong diagnostic and problem-solving abilities to identify and resolve issues with logic, communications, and system integration
  • Understanding complex control systems including diagnosing and troubleshooting networking and integration.
  • Proficiency with EC-gfx Program: Candidates must have demonstrated experience in developing, testing, and commissioning control sequences using Distech's graphical block programming tool
  • Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose and repair and/or replace control components and controls systems. Also, the ability to troubleshoot mechanical, HVAC and electrical issues related to the BAS Control system operation.
  • Ability to load and update software on network controllers, field controllers, computers and servers.
  • Must have experience in writing as well as demonstrated understanding of computer programs and software applications as related to the HVAC Industry.
  • Protocol knowledge: Expertise in BACnet/IP, BACnet MS/TP, and LonWorks
  • Five to seven years of increasingly responsible experience in servicing electronic controls and HVAC equipment. Ability to coordinate the work of others on multiple job sites.
  • System integration: Ability to integrate Distech controllers with third-party systems using various protocols
