Attending and participating in pharmacy tech meetings to exchange ideas to achieve goals of the department.
Electronic billing of private pay, Medicare, Medicaid, and Third Party claims utilizing pharmacy software.
Performing duties assigned by a licensed pharmacist. Areas of work are checked routinely for maintenance of quality control. Work is conducted in accordance with generally accepted standards of practice following departmental procedures and policies as outlined in the department operations manual.
Processing credit card transactions for charge accounts monthly.
Managing Prior Authorizations required from Third Party Insurance.
Reading and interpreting physicians’ orders received in the pharmacy and transcribing the information into the pharmacy computer medication profile. Requires knowledge to adjust dosing times as pharmacy will generate MARs; prepare unit doses; and labels individual patient medications for dispensing to the nursing unit.
Assisting pharmacy staff with checking in orders, putting orders away and filing associated paperwork as needed.
Managing electronic claims log for rejected claims and supervising scheduled claims daily.
Following company policy on billing and auditing procedures.
Must exhibit and promote a high level of customer service, hospitality, curiosity and friendliness towards all residents, visitors, employees and the overall facility.
Generating reports from NetRx and QS/1 and presents finding to Pharmacy Manager.
Ensuring accuracy of adjudicated claims by establishing and maintaining auditing procedures.
Following up with payers, patients and other appropriate parties to collect open billings in a timely manner and to ensure compliance with billing regulations.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand/move, communicate, and identify written information.The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and lift and/or move up to 50 pounds independently; occasionally lift and/or move up to 200 pounds with assistance.

Active and undisciplined Pharmacy Technician Registration in the State of Illinois
Possess the technical skills and abilities to perform and provide top notch service.

Be able to demonstrate proficiency in Internet browsers (e.g., Explorer, Chrome, and Fire Fox), Microsoft Office programs including Outlook, Excel, Word and Publisher, electronic health records (EHR) systems, and any HR related systems if applicable.
