Technicians will maintain, diagnose, and repair a variety of heavy commercial and industrial ice machines and related refrigeration systems, including mechanical, electrical, and plumbing components. They will also perform preventative maintenance, coordinate with grocery and foodservice clients, provide quotes, and ensure proper tool and safety equipment is stocked.
- Maintain, diagnose, and repair heavy commercial and industrial ice machines (cuber, flaker, nugget styles).
- Service mechanical and electrical components of ice production equipment, including pumps, harvest systems, water systems, controls, and refrigeration circuits.
- Repair additional refrigeration systems such as self‑contained coolers/freezers, single systems, and rack systems.
- Perform minor plumbing repairs on water supply lines, drain lines, cooling towers, and water‑cooled condensers.
- Inspect plumbing, electrical, and refrigeration systems to determine specifications and needed repairs.
- Conduct preventative maintenance: descaling, sanitizing, cleaning water circuits, replacing filters, and verifying ice production.
- Coordinate work with grocery store managers, foodservice teams, and store directors.
- Provide quotes for ice machine and refrigeration repairs and recommend replacements when appropriate.
- Maintain proper van stock, tools, and safety equipment for service work.
- Exercise good judgment in selecting materials and parts for repairs.
- Apply attention to detail and critical thinking during troubleshooting.
- Communicate professionally with customers and internal teams.

The Arcticom Group Refrigeration (TAGR) is seeking Journey Level Refrigeration Technicians for commercial service work in and around the Houston, TX area.
Candidates must have strong diagnostic abilities, good judgment with materials, attention to detail, professional communication, and mechanical aptitude working with water and high-capacity equipment. Minimum two years of HVAC/R experience, on‑call availability, and the ability to pass required background checks are required.
Additional preferred qualifications include an EPA license, 2–3 years experience with large commercial ice machines such as Manitowoc or Hoshizaki, grocery refrigeration background, and relevant HVAC/R education or certifications.
- Demonstrate strong diagnostic ability for ice machine refrigeration circuits, water systems, and controls.
- Possess mechanical aptitude for water, pumps, and high‑capacity refrigeration equipment.
- Have at least 2 + years HVAC/R experience with commercial or industrial ice machines.
- Available for on‑call work as needed.
- Pass physical, drug screen, background investigation, and driving abstract.
- EPA license (highly desired).
- 2–3 years experience with large commercial ice machines (Manitowoc, Hoshizaki, Scotsman, Follett, etc.).
- Prior experience in grocery refrigeration or commercial HVAC/R (highly desired).
- Relevant HVAC/R education or certifications preferred.
