You will develop, implement, and maintain manufacturing processes that increase efficiency, reduce costs, improve sustainability, and maximize profitability. Collaboration with design, quality, and production teams is essential to ensure the systems meet production goals.
Process design and improvement focus on Design for Manufacture & Assembly (DFMA) and conducting Process Failure Modes and Effects Analyses (PFMEAs). You will create comprehensive control plans, optimize layout strategies, and drive standardisation and continuous‑improvement initiatives across production workflows.
Production support involves providing proactive technical assistance, troubleshooting issues, and developing standard work instructions. Ensuring full health, safety, and environmental compliance will be embedded within all production activities.
In quality control you will establish robust systems and standards, employ the 8D problem‑solving methodology, and work closely with the QA team to meet customer and regulatory requirements. Managing the Non‑Conformance Report (NCR) process and implementing corrective actions are also key responsibilities.
Equipment and tooling responsibilities include specifying, selecting, and overseeing the installation of new manufacturing equipment, maintaining existing assets, and designing tooling and fixtures. Lean methodologies and modular build strategies will be applied to boost manufacturing efficiency.
Cost‑reduction efforts will leverage Lean Six Sigma and detailed cost analyses to identify waste and drive efficiency. Collaboration with procurement and supply‑chain teams will optimise material usage and reduce expenses.
Documentation and reporting tasks require developing and maintaining work instructions, SOPs, control plans, and process flow diagrams, as well as generating performance reports to support data‑driven decisions. All process modifications will be accurately recorded within the BOM and routing systems for full traceability.
Project management duties involve leading complex manufacturing and product‑development projects, establishing structured New Product Introduction (NPI) methodologies, and managing timelines, resources, and budgets. Engaging cross‑functional stakeholders ensures projects are delivered on time and within scope.
Continuous improvement initiatives will be driven by staying current with manufacturing technologies, conducting staff training on new processes, quality tools, and lean methods, and fostering a culture of ongoing enhancement.
The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering (or equivalent experience), with substantial experience in process or manufacturing engineering, PLM/ERP systems, and BOM management. Proficiency in CAD software, lean manufacturing, quality management systems (ISO 9001), and strong project‑management, communication, and teamwork skills are essential.
The role offers an agile, dynamic workplace where learning and boundary‑pushing are encouraged daily. As a Manufacturing Engineer you will be part of a team that builds today’s solutions for tomorrow’s challenges.
