Provide line management support to the Health and Safety Compliance Manager, actively reviewing opportunities for development and supporting performance through feedback and appraisals.
Work with the Health and Safety Business Partner/ Senior Business Partner to support the business in managing health and safety, ensuring that processes are appropriate for each department.
Develop the health and safety management system to meet best practice standards whilst reflecting the needs of the business.
Provide technical support on health and safety legislation and its application across the business: Providing expert advisory supportProviding leadership and resolutions where neededChallenging all parties – internal and external to ensure standards are met and maintained. Providing strong, visible, proactive, leadership for Health and Safety matters
Support our HR team to champion wellbeing internally with employees.
Lead the business to meet and exceed legal compliance in health and safety, developing and then maintaining a positive health and safety culture.
Ensure duty holders within the business are appropriately upskilled to deliver exceptional health and safety performance, support learning and challenge preconceptions of health and safety.
Working with the Health and Safety Business Partner/ Senior Business Partner to establish and maintain a “golden thread” of information on fire safety for our buildings.
Develop and implement a framework for our health and safety consultants to ensure that they are used in the most efficient, proactive way, adding value to our health and safety processes.
Work with senior management and health and safety professionals from our Principal Contractors to understand their health and safety related challenges and champion wellbeing on our construction sites.
Providing expert advisory support
Providing strong, visible, proactive, leadership for Health and Safety matters
Support the Health and Safety Business Partner/ Senior Business Partner on accident and incident investigation, ensuring a no-blame culture.
Recommend and support the implementation of policies and procedures to manage employee health and safety.
Implement and evolve the health and safety strategy, adapting it as needs change.
Lead and manage the Health and Safety Committee, provide reporting to Executive Committee and the Board on health and safety.
Work with HR to ensure that employee wellbeing measures meet health and safety best practice standards.
Challenging all parties – internal and external to ensure standards are met and maintained.

CMIOSH or equivalent preferred.
Experience within the property/facilities/construction sectors is preferential.
Conscientious and delivers on commitments in-order to meet the needs of the business.
Proven experience in successfully managing a team of employees.
The ability to communicate successfully to a varied stakeholder group and influence strategy at a senior level.
Outstanding organisation skills
The ability to be able to build relationships in the business, be self-directed and able to use their own initiative to progress tasks/activities balanced with knowing when to seek advice.
The ability to handle a large and varied workload.
High degree of professionalism and integrity, with the ability to be discreet
Composed in pressured situations with personal resilience – responds positively to the needs of a demanding client base.
Works flexibly and cooperatively as part of a team
Significant experience working as a Health and Safety professional at “Head-of department” level.
