When using contractors on sites, act as the Lead to ensure the contractors submit daily activity reports and JSA reports and work follows Sungrow standards and expectations.
A ‘completer-finisher’ taking accountability for ideas from inception to delivery in an environment that requires robust metrics to confirm the success.
Work independently in the field and with Design Engineers to resolve high-level technical issues, support the investigation of the root cause for technology applications for complex projects
Create/modify Field Service procedures for safety troubleshooting and maintenance if required.
C ompletes documentation in a timely and organized fashion
Perform a variety of technical assignments involving the installation, operation, testing, and maintenance of string and central solar inverter and/or BESS Systems, PCS, batteries, and ancillary equipment.
Prepare and submit own Daily Activity Reports and Daily JSA Reports.
Own creation and submission of all field paperwork and documentation for full compliance with site documentation and project requirement
Perform general troubleshooting and diagnosis under Sungrow’s maintenance and repair guidelines.
Serve as a safety second if needed.
Additionally, for those on O&M capacity, perform Preventive Maintenance and other Long Term Service Agreement (LTSA) activities per the contract
As needed, support and perform pre-commissioning (with and without grid emulator) and commissioning of solar inverters and BESS systems within schedule and work plans
Can utilize and inspect appropriate safety and fall protection equipment
Provide feedback to the engineering and project team on possible mechanical and electrical design improvements.
Coordinate and work closely with other engineering, logistic, financial, and program management disciplines to maintain the solar plant operations.
Lead upgrade/rework projects (software and hardware) in the field and interact with customers to explain the project's technical scope and manage work schedule and commitments.
Work with customer SCADA engineers to set up systems communication and parameters involving Sungrow’s controllers and F&G systems as needed.
Follow level-appropriate standard operating procedures.
Verify and comply with engineering documentation standards and test procedures.
Investigate solar plant issues such as DC array grid faults, inverter design issues, and utility grid transients. For BESS positions, these investigations may also involve SOC checks and module /component-level troubleshooting, replacement of electrical/electronic parts, SW version updates, etc.

Motivated self-starter with complex problem-solving abilities.
Associate’s Degree in an Engineering or Computer Science Discipline from an accredited university or college
Strong demonstration of workplace safety practices
Compliant with environmental safety requirements
Accurately describes troubleshooting sequences and procedures which they have observed
Experience and/or certification with MV transformers a plus
Power Electronics experience is desired
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
Understands and follows a Safety Plan
Comprehend Job Hazard Analysis and conduct level-appropriate Job Hazard Analysis
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
