The position sits within the divisional leadership team, providing the opportunity to influence the strategic direction of our estimating and proposal processes and to contribute to the broader success of the division.

• Collaborate with field surveyors and project managers to gather and verify site data.
• Prepare accurate cost estimates and formal client proposals for EV charging projects.
• Interpret CAD drawings and coordinate with the internal design team to align designs and estimates.
• Ensure proposals comply with regulations (BS 7671, IET Code) and meet client requirements.
• Conduct site visits across the UK to validate survey data and support bid development.
• Obtain quotations from supply chain and subcontractors, identifying value‑engineering opportunities.
• Stay current with industry standards, best practices, and regulatory requirements.
• Support internal stakeholders with pricing strategies, risk assessments, and project planning.
• Lead or contribute to improvements and innovations in the estimating process.
• Participate in divisional leadership meetings and business growth strategy discussions.

Requirements

We are looking for an experienced Electrical Estimator with a strong background in electric‑vehicle charging or a similar industry to support the growth of GC Energy Solutions. The successful candidate will develop accurate, commercially competitive estimates and proposals, working closely with field‑based surveyors, project managers, and our in‑house design team. Although primarily home‑based, the role requires weekly attendance at the London office and occasional site visits.

The ideal candidate will have proven estimator experience in EV charging infrastructure, a minimum NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Electrical Installation (or City & Guilds 2921), and a BS 7671 (18th Edition) qualification. In‑depth knowledge of IET Wiring Regulations, strong electrical design and CAD skills, and proficiency with Excel and estimating software are essential, alongside excellent communication, stakeholder management, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a hybrid environment. Desirable experience includes civils and utilities work, project management, familiarity with software such as Trimble or Bluebeam, and understanding of public‑sector procurement.

• Project management or site experience delivering electrical infrastructure projects (desirable).

• Knowledge of commercial and public sector procurement processes (desirable).
