The Concrete Finisher JM is responsible for leveling and finishing freshly poured concrete, grout, and similar products on floors, walls, ceilings, foundations, and sidewalks. The role requires reading and interpreting measuring tools, project plans, blueprints, and drawing coordinates, as well as operating hand and power tools such as power trowels and vibrators. Work is full‑time, typically 50 hours per week, with a schedule subject to project requirements and up to 90 % travel to project sites.
- Level and finish freshly poured concrete, grout, and related products on floors, walls, ceilings, foundations, and sidewalks.
- Read and interpret measuring tools, project plans, blueprints, and drawing coordinates.
- Place, vibrate, and consolidate concrete; operate power trowel, vibrator, and hand tools.
- Inspect finished concrete work and monitor temperature effects.
- Apply hardening agents, sealants, curing compounds, and waterproofing treatments.
- Install anchor bolts, steel plates, fixtures, and grout for equipment.
- Mix, pour, saw‑cut, patch, and sack concrete as required.
- Direct small crews and mentor journeymen and helpers.
- Follow MIC Health and Safety programs, attend toolbox meetings, and maintain a clean work area.
- Provide personal safety toe boots and approved hand tools; comply with OSHA and company safety regulations.

The position demands hard physical work in varying temperatures and outdoor conditions, including lifting objects up to 50 pounds, climbing, and working at heights while wearing required personal protective equipment. Employees must follow MIC Health and Safety programs, attend daily toolbox meetings, and maintain a clean work area, adhering to all state, company, client, OSHA, and federal safety regulations.
- Meet a minimum of four years of journeyman experience; master journeyman requires NCCER certification.
