Serve as the primary contact for coordinating the external review and approval process of technical reports pertaining to design criteria
Provide technical guidance and expertise on design criteria best practices, methodologies, tools, and resources
Coordinate with the client’s program managers, GDOT subject matter contacts, and Arcadis project SMEs to synchronize technical provisions, approval timelines, and milestone submissions to meet procurement schedules.
Lead the development and implementation of design criteria for various roadway transportation projects, ensuring alignment with the client’s needs, industry standards, and project requirements
Manage and coordinate design criteria team across a program of design build projects, including interstate widenings, interchange designs, economic development initiatives, and express lanes projects.
Develop or oversee the creation of technical reports relating to design criteria, including but not limited to Design Exceptions, Design Variances, and Concept Reports, while ensuring quality, accuracy, and consistency
Lead development and quality assurance of project Design Build Technical Provisions, including project-specific information for RFPs and RIDs, ensuring alignment with GDOT standards and project design.
Communicate and collaborate with the project managers, design managers, engineers, subject matter experts, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure the design criteria are met and any issues are resolved
Ensure consistent QA/QC processes for design deliverables and ownership of final technical acceptance criteria before client submission.
Monitor and report on the progress and status of the design criteria activities on projects across the design build program, identifying and mitigating any risks or challenges
Monitor program-level cost and schedule impacts tied to design criteria, lead mitigation strategies, oversee documentation of associated risks, and report out to program managers and the client.

Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams, and SharePoint
Minimum 15 years' experience working in the Georgia transportation and construction industry on relevant Georgia DOT transportation design projects
Proficiency in reviewing design within Bentley software packages, including MicroStation, OpenRoads, and ProjectWise
Experience with Bluebeam Revu and Trimble Unity Connect
Thorough understanding of the relevant GDOT and AASHTO policies and standards.
Design, Construction, and QA/QC experience on projects.
A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline.
20 years' experience working in the Georgia transportation and construction industry on relevant Georgia DOT transportation design projects
Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
