The Senior Commissioning Technician will report to the Commissioning Manager within the Commissioning department of CS e‑Storage, working remotely from the UK with frequent travel to project sites. The role supports the commissioning engineer in delivering BESS projects from mechanical completion through commercial operation, ensuring safe and efficient start‑up of battery storage systems.
- Play a critical role on‑site in executing BESS projects from mechanical completion through commercial operation.
- Perform tasks assigned by the commissioning manager and engineer, including visual inspections and electrical fault finding.
- Execute daily routine tasks such as commissioning test sheets, reviewing and logging issues, and monitoring project progress.
- Support commissioning of the overall control system by testing network connectivity of field devices and performing point‑to‑point tests.
- Provide on‑site diagnostic, troubleshooting, and hands‑on support.
- Supervise subcontractors on‑site when required.
- Assist in developing standard operating procedures from on‑site lessons learned.
- Prepare testing documentation and test reports promptly.
- Support client and O&M contractor training initiatives.
- Adhere to all health and safety rules and policies.
- Attend and occasionally lead Plan of Day (POD) meetings.
- Work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.

- Travel domestically up to 100% of the time, with occasional international travel advantageous.
- Minimum NVQ/SVQ (or equivalent) Level 3 in electrical discipline; HNC preferred.
- At least 2 years of relevant experience in installation, commissioning, or service environments.
- Previous experience or training in the renewables sector is highly desired.
- High‑Voltage and/or SCADA experience is beneficial.
- Experience with HVAC/Liquid Chillers systems is desirable.
- Strong practical problem‑solving skills; capable of working independently or in a team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for interaction with internal teams and contractors.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; Smartsheets and Autodesk Construction Cloud advantageous.
- Valid driving licence and passport.
