The role involves direct communication with client/internal customers, leading the hydro engineering project team, and overseeing lead engineers, administrators, schedulers, procurement, and other team members. The manager provides overall project oversight to ensure alignment with objectives.
Key responsibilities include collaborating with internal and external engineering teams to define project scope and creating the Project Charter and Management Plan. The manager oversees Quality Management System documentation, directs a multidisciplinary team through all project phases, and maintains the project schedule. Financial duties cover budgeting, monthly forecasting, cost control, procurement, and managing the bid process with multiple vendors. Additional tasks involve contract development, regulatory compliance, permitting coordination, and promoting a safety‑first mindset throughout the project.
The manager leads change management, escalates issues to the steering committee when necessary, and delivers communications to stakeholders. Decision‑making ensures project deliverables meet time, budget, and quality targets, with forecasts and performance measurements approved.
Required qualifications are a bachelor’s degree, 5‑7 years of relevant experience, and PMP certification. Candidates must have proven leadership of large teams, experience with complex initiatives, and an understanding of utility operations and business case development. A track record of delivering results in high‑pressure assignments is essential.

The position is Project Manager – Hydro Engineering, based in Rochester, NY (Scottsville Road), office work. Salary range $94,490 to $118,113 depending on experience.
