The Software Developer and Applications Support professional will design, develop, test, and maintain software applications while providing Tier 2 and Tier 3 technical support for an internal case management system. Working with cross‑functional teams, the individual will deliver reliable, scalable, and secure solutions and continuously improve system performance and user experience.
Key duties include collaborating with stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions, writing clean, well‑documented code, conducting code reviews, and integrating third‑party APIs and databases. The role also involves troubleshooting defects, monitoring application performance, managing version control and change‑management processes, ensuring compliance with security and HIPAA requirements, and producing regular statistical reports for the Office of Refugee Resettlement.
Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field (or equivalent experience), have at least five years of progressive software development experience, and be proficient in languages such as Java, C#, Python, JavaScript, or SQL. Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), Agile methodologies, DevOps practices, and developing secure, high‑availability systems is required, along with strong problem‑solving, teamwork, and on‑call support capabilities.
The position demands manual dexterity, visual and auditory acuity, and the ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods, with occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds and travel to conferences or meetings. This remote position is open to candidates anywhere in the continental United States, with a schedule of Monday through Friday, 8:30 am‑5:30 pm (CST or MST) and occasional weekend or evening on‑call hours. The role offers a salary of $125,000 annually, based on experience.
