The Mechanical Maintenance Procedure Writer is responsible for creating detailed mechanical maintenance procedures for a variety of industrial systems and equipment. Work is performed under general supervision and includes reviewing plant P&IDs, specifications, and operating manuals to identify equipment requiring maintenance. The role also involves providing procedures in the client’s format to accompany plant work packages and ensuring technical correctness.
The ideal candidate holds a high school diploma or equivalent, with an associate degree in Engineering Technology preferred, and has at least four years of relevant industrial experience in technical writing or design. No specific certification is required. Required knowledge includes familiarity with gear reducers, pumps, couplings, motors, lubrication and hydraulic systems, as well as proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and related software.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, the ability to prioritize work, and follow directed assignments are essential.
