The Tool Coordinator directs procurement and inventory management of tools, developing relationships with suppliers and internal clients to ensure timely and cost‑effective delivery for both planned and emergent jobs. Salary ranges from $19 to $25 per hour, depending on experience.
In this role you will prioritize safety, coordinate tool requirements with field teams, and manage procurement, transfer, and rental of tools from third‑party suppliers. Responsibilities include strategic planning and budgeting, conducting training on new tools, overseeing all inventory functions (issue, return, receiving, cycle counting, labeling, inspection, quality control), arranging repairs or testing, analyzing data and reporting, visiting job sites and suppliers, monitoring departmental health, and supervising utility helpers. The position requires a minimum of 40 hours per week with occasional weekend or after‑hours work.
Candidates must possess a solid understanding of tools and mechanical systems, strong communication skills, and the ability to multitask both independently and within a team. Integrity, dependability, and a high school diploma or equivalent are required, along with at least five years of industry experience (eight years preferred). No specific licenses or certifications are required.
