The Defence Segment Leader – UK & Ireland is responsible for leading Schneider Electric’s growth, market‑share and customer‑impact strategy across the UK Defence sector. The role requires deep knowledge of the MOD ecosystem, Defence procurement models, Defence Digital standards and engagement with Defence primes and infrastructure partners. You will own the overall Defence segment strategy, directly manage the top five strategic Defence accounts and orchestrate account coverage, pursuits and delivery across the UK&I region.
You will define and execute the UK&I Defence segment strategy aligned with MOD priorities, the Defence Industrial Strategy and Schneider’s global defence initiatives. This includes identifying market trends and energy‑transition needs across estates, bases, data centres and infrastructure, developing Defence‑tailored value propositions and ensuring alignment with government frameworks such as CCS, JSPs and Defence Digital governance.
As the primary relationship owner for the top five strategic Defence accounts, you will build senior stakeholder relationships across the MOD, Defence primes and integrators, driving account penetration in electrification, micro‑grids, resilience and secure digital architectures. Each account will have clear success plans and multi‑year roadmaps.
You will own full segment revenue, margin, growth and pipeline targets, monitor KPIs, pipeline health and forecasting accuracy, and implement corrective actions to guarantee disciplined execution. Collaboration with major pursuits, regional account managers and channel teams will ensure a unified One Schneider approach to coverage and opportunity allocation.
Navigating Defence procurement frameworks, contracting models and assurance processes is essential, as is ensuring compliance with Defence Digital standards, secure‑by‑design principles and cyber requirements. You will represent Schneider Electric at MOD and industry forums, build influence across ecosystem partners and champion customer satisfaction and long‑term value creation.
Success will be measured by achieving or exceeding annual orders targets, delivering segment margin, increasing wallet share across top accounts, maintaining a pipeline of at least three times the annual target, improving NPS for strategic accounts and executing coverage plans on time.
The role requires proven experience in the UK Defence sector, a strong understanding of Defence procurement and contracting models, the ability to obtain SC clearance (DV desirable) and a record of strategic account management and business growth. Key competencies include influencing and stakeholder‑management skills, customer‑centric leadership, execution discipline, collaboration in matrix environments and commercial and financial fluency.
Schneider Electric values diversity and inclusion, recognising that embracing diversity unlocks innovation and fosters collaboration. The company participates in the Disability Confident Programme and offers a competitive salary, bonus scheme, 28 days annual leave, pension, employee share ownership, internal mobility opportunities, learning portal and other benefits.
