Senior Civil / Structural Engineer (Substations)

Description

• Design lead leading our design capability in GTC, India.
• Condition and Structural Assessment of existing structures to identify suitability for reuse.
• Preparing specifications/ scoping documents.
• Supervising, developing, and mentoring others.
• Pricing works and preparing technical proposals.
• Design coordination across multidisciplinary teams.
• Managing technical aspects of civil / structural engineering projects. This may be over a range of design phases, from optioneering through to detailed design.

Requirements

• Experience of working in the electricity supply industry, preferably HV substations, is desirable but not mandatory.
• In addition to having strong communication and supervision skills, key attributes include the following:
• Master's degree (MEng/MSc) qualified Civil or Structural Engineer.
• Do you enjoy a wide variety of tasks and projects? We are looking for someone versatile; you could be working on a small individual assignment or as part of a larger, multi-disciplinary team. You will enjoy working closely with clients on a range of demanding issues whilst helping to mentor and train more junior colleagues. We are looking for someone motivated and with a positive attitude. We are building our capability and would like someone to work with our civil and structural team lead to deliver technical work and support junior engineers.
• Chartered Engineer and a Member of ICE or IStructE is desirable.
• Strong technical background, with experience of steel and reinforced concrete design using relevant UK and international codes/standards.
