The employee is frequently required to stand, walk and sit.
Actively promote & drive the safety vision of a Zero Incident Culture through fostering a Zero Incident Mindset, including but not limited to, employee safety observations, hazard recognition, and other employee engagement activities.
Ownership of site contractor management program including but not limited to facilitating contractor participation with site safety requirements, as well as conduct additional contractor safety orientations for shutdowns and outside contract work, as necessary.
Ensure internal HSE program auditing is performed and confirms compliance and adherence to site standards/procedures.
Develop safety processes when necessary.
Manage employee health policies and initiatives, including but not limited to injury management, incident investigations and safety corrective action plans to minimize the effect of injuries on the employee and the company incident rate metrics.
Investigate work related incidents.
Inspect work areas for safety hazards and risks and develop inspection reports. Schedule and conduct Facility Safety Inspections and reports.
Be available to assist with workplace incidents.

Communicate with management and employees in a workplace about processes and procedures.
Develop, implement and manage policies, procedures, programs and databases consistent with Federal, State and Company requirements.
Assist with the completion of incident reports based on investigations.
Support the site Management of Change process, including safety risk assessment evaluations of new or modified equipment.
Execute safety-related training curriculum development and presentations associated with company policies, OSHA requirements, new employee safety orientations and routine safety training.

OSHA 10-Hr and 30-Hr General Industry Training Certification preferred.
Completion of a substance abuse screening upon offer of employment.
3-5+ years of experience in related general industry / construction / transportation EHS role is preferred.
Excellent technical writing, speaking, and presentation skills
Strong coaching, collaboration, and networking abilities when it comes to working with other functions/department leaders, contractors, and personnel.
Strong technical / analytical skills, the ability to handle multiple tasks and responsibilities and the ability to work in a cooperative, team-oriented atmosphere.
Possession of a valid Texas Driver’s License and State automobile insurance, and acceptable driving record.
Strong leadership skills, initiative, focus and follow-through skills.
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds
OHST / CHST.
Engineering aptitude.
Experience using KPA Learning Management System and Telematics.
Strong decision-making and resolution skills
Effective organization and planning skills.
Must have solid communication skills and can interact and productively communicate with all levels of the organization
Strong computer skills in standard office software programs.
Minimal travel required
Must be able to multitask, problem-solve, prioritize, and implement innovative processes within a fast-paced environment
Specific vision abilities required by this job include the ability to adjust focus, as necessary to use a computer
Ability to adapt to different cultural environments.
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Occupational Safety & Health, or other related technical discipline preferred.
Must be able to demonstrate computer proficiency, especially within Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, as well as PC based programs
