How you can make an impact. You will be responsible for proper operation and maintenance of polyethylene pipe fusion equipment, including trailers, tool trucks, and ancillary support equipment such as generators. You will assist field crews in locating fused pipe according to design plans, take depth measurements, and survey excavations for lateral and horizontal piping.
You will help set up drilling equipment, clear debris, and carry and pour sand or other materials to settle piping in drilled gas‑well holes. You will install metal stakes and retaining materials on slopes, enter excavations, manholes, sumps, or confined spaces to install gas, leachate, or condensate piping, and operate backhoes or other equipment to remove soil or waste material.
What we are looking for. We are seeking a Fusion Technician to operate fusion equipment for polyethylene pipe installation and other heavy equipment on landfill projects.
Qualifications. A minimum of one year of fusion experience and advanced technical skills for operating and maintaining pipe fusion equipment are required. Preferred certifications include OSHA 40‑hour HAZWOPER, HAZWOPER Supervisor, Confined Space Entry Team, and Excavation Safety Competent Person, as well as training in polyethylene pipe fusion. A valid driver’s license with a good record is required, and the role demands physical ability to lift up to 50 lb, perform hand excavation, climb ladders, operate power tools, and work in varying weather conditions.
Pay Range. The position offers a salary between USD $20.00 and USD $30.00 per year.
