This position is highly visible and plays a key role in shaping the company’s retail annuity offerings. The leader in this role will collaborate closely with senior management and report directly to the Senior Vice President overseeing the retail annuity business. The position is based in Durham, North Carolina, and requires on-site presence three days per week.

  • Bachelors degree
  • 10+ years of insurance actuary experience
  • Proven leadership experience managing actuarial teams
  • Has FSA - fellowship for society of actuaries
  • In depth knowledge of annuity products & market (MYGA/FIA/RILA), pricing techniques, and financial acumen
  • Strong experience with: Pricing models, setting up production credited rates on our MYGAS, and all of our annuities we write in US. New business rates, enforced rates, modeling of new accounting regimes, reinsurance treaties, etc
  • Strong knowledge of actuarial guidelines, accounting standards, and annuity disclosure requirements
  • Ability to set team goals and drive strategic vision
  • Strong people management with varying team sizes (at least 5 years of people management)
