Yard Maintenance

Description

The Yard Maintenance is responsible for performing upkeep tasks such as Equipment Maintenance repairs and cleaning.

• Participate in training programs as required
• Prepare material for the issuing of jobs
• Verifies that equipment is in good mechanical and safe operating condition upon being taken out or being returned
• Assist in the loading of trucks
• Promotes Cantera’s culture of “Safety First”
• Works on site over rough terrain
• Assist with equipment & material check-outs
• Assists drivers with loading/unloading as necessary
• Responsible for red tagging equipment that needs repair
• Check equipment in or out as needed
• Pre-loading all trucks
• Ensure checks to verify stock levels for re-ordering are accurate and appropriate
• Delivery of goods with the use of forklifts

Requirements

Leadership and Time Management Skills

Communication and Teamwork Skills

• Knowledge of construction materials preferred
• Must be comfortable with travel on a need-to-need basis
• Valid Commercial class C driver license required
• Must be able to work outdoors subject to inclement weather (heat/cold) year-round
• Must be able to lift 70 lbs.
• Must be able to climb and work at heights above 6 feet
• Frequent activity of Standing, Kneeling, Walking, Climbing, Bending, reaching above Shoulders, Pushing and Pulling
• Ability to use basic tools
• Excellent time management and organizational skills; able to organize work, engage in a variety of tasks simultaneously and consistently meet deadlines
• Able to perform duties independently
• Having some mechanical experience is a plus
• Can follow rules but can show initiative
