The Senior Architect provides technical leadership across all project phases, guides complex projects to successful delivery, resolves design and regulatory challenges, ensures design excellence and risk management, mentors staff, and collaborates with market and studio leadership on staffing and strategic initiatives.

• Provide technical leadership across all project phases, including design development, documentation, code coordination, consultant collaboration, and construction administration.
• Lead complex projects by guiding teams, managing schedules, budgets, resources, and scope changes to ensure successful delivery.
• Resolve sophisticated design, technical, and regulatory challenges in collaboration with clients, consultants, contractors, and firm leadership.
• Ensure design excellence, quality control, and risk management through thorough document reviews and adherence to firm standards.
• Mentor and develop staff through effective delegation, coaching, and support of professional growth.
• Partner with market and studio leadership on staffing, proposals, and strategic initiatives while contributing to firm‑wide collaboration.

Lionakis is seeking an experienced Senior Architect to join the Education team in Sacramento, where projects span from K‑12 to higher education.

An ideal candidate possesses a thorough understanding of building systems, codes, and standards, and has experience managing projects of varying size and complexity within the education market. This role is for a stellar individual who wants to change the world one project at a time.

Required qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in architecture, at least ten years of architectural experience, U.S. licensure (California preferred), proficiency with BIM/Revit, MS Office, and Bluebeam, and prior education‑project experience. Preferred credentials are LEED accreditation and experience with Sketch‑Up, Rhino, or other 3D programs.

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or equivalent and minimum of 10 years architectural project experience.
• Licensed Architect in the U.S. (California preferred).
• Proficient with BIM/Revit software programs, MS Office Suite, and Bluebeam.
• Prior experience with education projects (DSA experience a huge plus).
• LEED accreditation (preferred).
• Experience with Sketch‑Up, Rhino, or other 3D programs (preferred).
