The Maintenance Technician A works under the guidance of a Lead Technician, Fleet Maintenance Supervisor, or Maintenance Manager to repair and maintain diesel and non‑diesel equipment and trucks. The role covers chassis components, refuse bodies, air brake systems, engines, HVAC, suspension, drivetrain and steering systems. Technicians enjoy working on a single fleet with state‑of‑the‑art equipment, receive training on new technologies, and benefit from a regular shift in a stable industry.
Key responsibilities include applying advanced knowledge to perform complex repairs both on‑site and on the road, identifying malfunctions with electronic diagnostic tools, and completing company‑provided training programs. Candidates must have at least three years of heavy‑duty truck experience and be able to inspect and repair systems such as suspensions, steering, engines, transmissions, brakes, electrical, hydraulics, drivetrain, and diesel emissions without constant supervision. ASE Heavy‑Truck certifications, LNG/CNG experience, and a Class B Commercial Driver’s License are preferred but not required. A valid driver’s license is mandatory.
The position offers a union hourly wage of $41.60 plus a bonus plan and a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, 401(k) matching, stock purchase options, and paid time off.
