O&M TECHNICIAN (Wind)

Description

The O&M Technician (Wind) will perform operations and maintenance tasks on the Cefn Croes wind farm, which uses GE 1.5 MW turbines, and will handle retrofits and upgrades. The role requires ensuring turbines run smoothly, supporting tower repairs and major component exchanges, and maintaining service vehicles and inventory. The technician must adhere to the highest safety and environmental standards and meet service targets.

• Perform preventive maintenance following O&M manuals.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot turbine issues.
• Execute retrofits and support tower repairs and major component exchanges.
• Operate condition monitoring and remote control systems to ensure turbine performance.
• Maintain service vehicle and well‑stocked warehouse by ordering materials, tools, and spare parts.
• Comply with HSE rules, safety, and environmental standards while meeting service targets.
• Make decisions on task methods and follow through on outcomes.
• Apply an organized, methodical mindset with a focus on results and safety.

Requirements

The position is full‑time, based in Aberystwyth, and requires a valid work permit and driving licence. Candidates with a background in mechanical, hydraulic, or electrical engineering, a high‑school degree or a bachelor’s degree in a technical field, and relevant certifications such as GWO are preferred. A sustainable mindset is considered a plus during the interview process.
