Assist in the development of marketing strategies for transportation project opportunities
Prepare and modify reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, cost estimates, environmental studies, and designs for projects
Attend on-site and off-site client meetings
Evaluate client needs and identify requirements
Lead, direct, and mentor design staff on transportation projects, including plan development for a comprehensive range of transportation design projects ranging from roundabouts to interchanges and interstate widenings. Associated tasks with these projects will include such as horizontal and vertical geometry, cross sections, earthwork modeling, 3D roadway modeling, quantities calculations, construction specifications, and utility coordination
Submit documents to federal, state, and local agencies for code compliance review and obtain permits when required
Meet with client management as necessary during the term of a project to resolve issues and to obtain approvals at the project’s completion
Participate in project scoping, fee estimating and proposal preparation, interviews, and negotiations
Managing and designing projects with clients such as Texas DOT and other municipal organizations
Review department project(s) after award to collaborate on work procedures/sequences and developing schedules, budgets, staffing, sub consultant involvement, and progress billings
Adhere to company standards for quality assurance and quality control as defined in the quality manual
Evaluate need for design changes and makes appropriate recommendations
Assist in staffing requirements and make recommendations for hiring staff

Experience with Texas DOT design methods, plan preparation, standards and specifications or similar State DOT experience
Business acumen including negotiation skills
A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience
Demonstrated capabilities and success in managing the design of medium to large multi-disciplined transportation projects, multi-office projects, and/or multiple projects
Working knowledge of roadway design software used to prepare engineering and design documents including Microstation and OpenRoads Designer
Proven leadership, communication, mentoring and client liaison skills
Experience with the Texas Department of Transportation or similar State DOT and/or local government agencies developing, delivering, and managing highway design projects.
Established relationships with key clients
Experienced in preparing technical approaches and work plans (write ups) to support RFQ’s and technical proposals
Texas Professional Engineer (PE) license required
Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering
Experienced in and fully capable of using the Microsoft software suite including Word, Excel, and Power Point
