In this role you will receive service calls from the Service Resource Center, diagnose equipment and system malfunctions, and perform service and repairs on electronic fire alarm and related building systems at customer sites. You will act as a trusted advisor, delivering solutions and outcomes on the spot while maintaining the highest level of customer service.
You will follow prescribed troubleshooting procedures, consult technical manuals and bulletins, and service many manufacturers’ fire and life‑safety systems, including SimplexGrinnell. The job requires reading blueprints, diagrams, submittals, and operational manuals, completing service acknowledgements with proper coding via smart devices, obtaining customer signatures, participating in on‑call rotation, mentoring teammates, providing recommendations and quotes, and performing other assigned duties.
The ideal candidate has at least two years of documented experience with low‑voltage electrical systems such as fire/life‑safety, access control, nurse call, and paging, and can read blueprints and use test equipment. Physical ability to lift 50–70 lb, work at heights up to 40 ft, and handle duct or crawl‑space environments is required, as is flexibility to work weekends and travel overnight. A valid driver’s license, clean driving record, ability to pass background and drug tests, and completion of SimplexGrinnell 4120 Network training within 12 months are also needed; NICET Level II certification is preferred.

Pay is $38.40 per hour as determined by the collective bargaining agreement, with the posted range reflecting target compensation.
