The Storage Administrator is responsible for supporting the implementation, maintenance, and optimization of enterprise storage solutions. This role works with technologies such as Nasuni, DFS, NTFS permissions, SharePoint, Azure Storage, and Autodesk Construction Cloud to ensure secure, compliant, and efficient operations across the organization.
Create and manage Nasuni volumes and connectivity requirements for applications and users.
Collaborate with system administrators, network engineers, and application teams to deliver integrated solutions.
Perform point-in-time restores using appropriate tools and technologies.
Implement and audit NTFS permissions following best practices.
Develop automation scripts (PowerShell, Python, Bash) to streamline drive mapping and routine tasks.
Assist with importing project data into SharePoint Online document libraries.
Collaborate with stakeholders to minimize downtime and maintain business continuity during recovery operations.
Maintain detailed recovery documentation and conduct regular testing for compliance and effectiveness.
Manage group-based access controls, ensuring proper inheritance and cleanup of redundant permissions.
Review migration plans with stakeholders and validate post-migration success.
Document procedures and ensure compliance with organizational standards for access and security.
Maintain and test data retention policies to comply with legal, regulatory, and organizational requirements (GDPR, HIPAA, SOX).
Manage access controls and permissions across platforms.
Generate and analyze reports to forecast future needs.
Support migration activities across multiple storage systems (Windows, Nasuni, Synology, Netgear, etc.).
Design and maintain DFS namespaces for high availability and fault tolerance.
Support hardening of all storage systems according to security best practices.
Assist in troubleshooting complex backup and storage-related issues.
Ensure reliable recovery of files, folders, and systems across supported storage platforms.
Assist in creating and executing data migration plans, including M&A scenarios.
Configure and maintain drive mappings for network shares across multiple platforms.
Configure and monitor Azure Storage accounts, including replication (GRS/LRS), secure transfer, and lifecycle policies.
Configure Microsoft Intune policies for drive mapping in modern managed environments.
Participate in on-call rotation for critical issues outside business hours.
Assist with provisioning, configuration, and maintenance of Nasuni appliances, including patching via Dell OpenManage.
The role would primarily assist in the management of the Nasuni system and would also help with the movement of data with the VPH project, ACC, and M&A data migrations.
Implement optimizations to improve efficiency, performance, and cost-effectiveness.
Provide guidance on Autodesk Construction Cloud adoption for design and engineering workflows to optimize collaboration and performance.
Support implementation of Group Policy Objects (GPO) for centralized management of mapped drives.
Monitor storage infrastructure performance and capacity.
100% Remote, US Time zone working mostly in US PST.
