Senior Mechanical Estimator

Description

• Request, manage and evaluate supplier and sub-contractor quotations
• Ensure quantity take-offs and mark up measured drawings are accurately prepared
• Liaise with clients, consultants, contractors, and wider project teams
• Prepare costed bill of quantities
• Issue tender queries and RFIs
• Prepare tender reports, tender pricing schedules and other tender return documents
• Conduct in-dept reviews of tender documents, drawings, specifications, schedules, etc
• Advise on potential value engineering opportunities
• Adhere to tender return deadlines
• Manage data base
• Attend meetings and site visits are when required

Requirements

• Strong understanding of mechanical & process pipework systems, HVAC, plumbing and other mechanical building services systems
• Degree in either Mechanical, Process, Building Services Engineering or other related field
• Ability to interpret drawings and specifications, preform accurate take-offs, and prepare detailed BOQs
• Must display excellent time management, communication, numerical, analytical and organisational skills
• Good knowledge of different mechanical & process pipework materials
• Strong computer skills especially in the use of MS Office
• 10+ years of previous mechanical cost estimating experience in a contracting environment with experience of delivering tenders from enquiry to award stage is essential
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to manage own workload and meet deadlines
• Problem solving skills with attention to detail and multitasking abilities
