  • Monitors supplier performance and phases out poor-performing suppliers in collaboration with Purchasing and Quality Teams.
  • Responds to critical Supply Chain issues that impact availability, quality, delivery, or costs as they arise, supporting resolution and driving re-sourcing, if necessary.
  • Develops and executes category strategies to ensure supply continuity, product quality, on-time delivery, and optimized total costs throughout the entire value chain.
  • Conducts make vs buy analysis and executes the transitions required.
  • Functions as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) in terms of product/component requirements, material requirements/options, manufacturing processes and techniques, and the supplier market landscape for any assigned category.
  • Sources materials, components, and services for New Product Development, in situations where requirements may be ambiguous. Provides iterative supply options and market information to Design Engineers and Product Managers throughout the Design Process.
  • Proposes and recommends cost savings, value-engineering, or other improvement projects.
  • Conducts market research and benchmarking to identify and validate cost savings or improvement potential.
  • Leads critical negotiations independently.
  • Assists and supports purchasing responsibilities.

  • MBA preferred, but not required
  • Willingness to work outside of standard business hours as required
  • Willingness to travel outside of the U.S. as required
  • Must possess (or quickly obtain) working knowledge of manual and CNC machining, welding, metal fabrication, forging, metal casting, and plastic/rubber molding.
  • Able to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, standards, and other documents to determine the best options for manufacturing processes and suppliers to use for sourcing materials, components, and products.
  • Evidence of responsible/sustainable procurement initiatives resulting in the achievement of cost savings
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Hands-on experience in manufacturing preferred (i.e., quality inspection, machining, welding, forging, metal casting, metal plating, plastic/rubber molding, etc.).
  • Minimum related experience requirement: 8 years+ (may include procurement, manufacturing, product management, quality, technical sales, or engineering experience)
  • Supply Chain Management Certifications preferred (i.e., Association for Supply Chain Management C.S.C.P. / C.P.I.M., Institute for Supply Management C.P.S.M.)
  • Able to efficiently pull data from ERP systems and databases (i.e. filtering tables and exporting, writing basic SQL queries).
  • Must possess (or quickly obtain) working knowledge of basic steel metallurgy and mechanical and chemical testing requirements
  • Experience in running large/complex sourcing activities
  • Proven Experience with Excel (Pivot Tabels, VLOOKUP's, =IF)
  • Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, or engineering.
