Assistant Project Manager

Description

We are seeking an Assistant Project Manager for our Long Beach, CA office to join the project‑management team. The role will support a two‑year program at a reputable higher‑education institution, guiding projects from pre‑construction through closeout and contributing to long‑term client success.

• Support the Senior Project Manager in delivering multiple high‑profile projects from pre‑design to closeout.
• Advise on project specifications and regulations while collaborating with architects and consultants.
• Assist and manage field activities to ensure work aligns with schedule and resolve conflicts cost‑effectively.
• Integrate institutional planning objectives into project plans.
• Contribute to budget development and contractor selection.
• Oversee consultants, contractors, budgets, and schedules for large‑scale projects.
• Adjust policies and procedures to streamline project execution.
• Prepare and present reports, presentations, and technical documentation on project status.
• Monitor project pace and schedule in coordination with office cost and schedule support.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of construction management or industry experience.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Preferred experience with California institutional projects such as K‑12, higher education, healthcare, or public works.

Benefits
