Archaeology Field Technicians for Phase III Data Recovery

Requirements

• Knowledge of prehistoric and historic material culture
• Bachelor’s Degree in anthropology/archaeology or related field, or combination of education and experience
• Frequent outoftown travel, potentially for extended periods of time
• Qualified applicants should exhibit strong technical skills, good communication skills, and feel comfortable making decisions in the field
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Experience on Phase I survey projects
• Experience in Phase II testing or Phase III data recovery projects preferred
• Fulltime, professional experience conducting archaeological survey and excavation
• Must have a valid driver’s license with good driving record and be able to operate motorized vehicles
• Must be able to pass preemployment and postemployment checks as needed, including background checks and drug tests
• Previous experience with mapping equipment and other special application equipment (e.g., emlid, digital data collection, etc.)
• Ability to complete physically demanding tasks in remote areas and/or humid continental climate, including walking, hiking, carrying heavy loads, and digging
• Successful completion of an archeology field school
• Detail oriented; resourceful; selfmotivated; strong initiative
