Reporting to the QA/QC Manager, the technician performs pre‑pour and post‑pour inspections of precast concrete products, takes representative samples, and tests raw materials and fresh concrete. The position also involves monitoring production and yard procedures to ensure compliance with established standards.
The role requires maintaining inspection documentation, updating the Titan database, and filing records such as supplier test reports, tensioning reports, and calibration logs. Collaboration with the Quality Control Team is essential to monitor plant quality and uphold safety standards.
- Follow quality control procedures outlined in the Quality System Manuals.
- Verify correct production drawings, dimensional accuracy of forms, and proper reinforcement placement.
- Inspect finished products for conformance with drawings and project requirements.
- Document inspection results using proper forms.
- Ensure proper concrete repair, handling, storing, and loading procedures.
- Inspect post‑tensioning operations for compliance with specified procedures.
- Take representative samples and test raw materials and fresh concrete.
- Perform compressive strength testing of concrete cylinders and grout cubes.
- Adhere to Lindsay Precast and OSHA safety rules.
- Inspect welds for quality compliance.
- Collaborate with the Quality Control Team to monitor plant quality.
- Maintain the Titan database and generate required reports.
- File and maintain records: supplier test reports, tensioning reports, concrete records, inspection reports, and equipment calibration logs.

Candidates must have at least two years of precast concrete production experience, be able to read production drawings and measurements, and meet physical requirements such as climbing around production tables and lifting 50‑60 lb. Required certifications include ACI Concrete Field‑Testing Technician – Grade I, with PCI Level I & II, PTI Level 1 Unbonded PT, and NPCA Production and Quality School certifications preferred.
- Minimum two years experience in precast concrete production.
- Ability to read and interpret precast concrete production drawings and use a tape measure.
- Legible handwriting and ability to climb around production tables.
- Capability to lift 50‑60 lb.
- Experience in aggregate testing and concrete strength testing.
- ACI Concrete Field‑Testing Technician – Grade I certification.
- PCI Level I & II Technician certifications (desired).
- PTI Level 1 Unbonded PT – Field Installation certification (desired).
- NPCA Production and Quality School certification (desired).
