Payroll Officer

Description

• Can be relied upon to treat the payroll function with confidentiality.
• Preparation of PAYG, Payroll Tax, WorkCover, Portable Redundancy Fund, Long Service Leave, and Superannuation payments
• Calculation and processing of termination payments
• Management of payroll-based adjustments such as back pays, WorkCover, and taxation requirements
• Develop and strive for process improvement to improve efficiencies.
• Can work to resolve queries relating to payroll across the organisation.
• Providing accurate information in response to employee queries.
• Overseeing the end-to-end weekly payroll processing for all company staff.

• Requirements to interpret award complexities and EBAs.
• The ability to work under pressure to achieve deadlines.
• Experience with and are comfortable in interpreting Awards/EBA's/Employment contracts.
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
• Can work collaboratively with teams across the business including
• Extensive and current knowledge of payroll legislation and compliance including payroll, tax, PAYG, Workers' Compensation, FBT, Terminations & STP reporting.
• More than 2 years’ experience of end-to-end weekly payroll processing (in-house) (experience using COINS preferred, ADP, Kronos, or similar desirable)
• Proven process improvement initiatives.
