Role
What you would be doing

  • Perform various Procurement activities including arranging Request for Quotation (RFQ) package for bid and PO/Contract for purchases including variation requests.
  • Perform PO close-out and complete supplier performance evaluations.
  • Assist Expeditor and Package Manager in resolving supplier’s late documentation deliverables.
  • Optimize purchase and deliver assigned packages at the lowest total cost while still maintaining quality, safety, specifications, Company standards/procedures, client requirements, and schedule.
  • Assist in resolving invoice questions and discrepancies with suppliers.
  • Assist Expeditor with resolution of non-conformances and OS& D’s (Over, Short, & Damages).
  • Not interfere with or misuse anything supplied for their health, safety and welfare;
  • Maintain relations with suppliers and subcontractors to help develop new business opportunities for Company.
  • Receives some guidance on process and timing.
  • Coordinate with Package Manager, Expeditor, and Freight Forwarder regarding supplier Inspection Release Note, shipment, and delivery.
  • Provide input to Project Controls for cashflow forecasts related to assigned packages.
  • Participation in supplier review and selections.
  • Promote and take part in the QHSSE continuous improvement process.
  • Conduct bid opening, clarifications, commercial bid evaluation (CBE), and bid recommendation.
  • Contribute to development and improvement of the Company and Project Approved Supplier List.
  • Responsible for the safe and complete delivery of equipment and services in a timely manner.
  • Participate in mitigation and recovery efforts for assigned packages.
  • Take care of themselves and others who may be affected by their acts or oversights;
  • Arrange for site services where required.
  • Report quality related problems and HSSE hazards or deficits within their area to the QHSSE department;
  • Participate in audits and review processes as necessary.
  • Provide input to Procurement reporting.

  • At least 4 years of experience in purchasing & material management and offshore oil and gas related projects.
  • Possess good analytic & problem-solving skills.
  • Experienced working in FPSO projects in the areas of purchasing & material management and offshore oil and gas.
  • Be proficient and have a thorough understanding in Purchasing and Material Management is desirable.
  • Interpersonal Effectiveness
  • Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in purchasing & material management from an accredited institution is mandatory.
  • Knowledge of Supply Chain Management processes and best practice.
  • Commercial awareness is required.
  • Analysis & Problem Solving
  • Able to work together as a team.
  • Able to communicate at all levels within the organization.
  • Knowledge of cost control in the offshore oil and gas sector.
  • Negotiation skills.
  • Good communication (written & verbal) skills are required due to frequent interactions internally (Company) and externally (Clients & Contractors).
