The Mechanical Lead will oversee all mechanical aspects of data‑center projects, combining strong technical expertise with project‑management skills to deliver mechanical services on scope, budget and schedule.
The role includes leading mechanical design and installation, reviewing MEP designs for compliance, coordinating with architects and contractors, conducting site inspections, preparing technical documentation, managing schedules and budgets, ensuring code compliance, and overseeing commissioning and testing.
Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and have 8‑10+ years of experience in mechanical engineering for data‑center projects, with deep knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, building automation and energy‑efficient design, plus proficiency with MEP coordination tools and BIM.
Required skills include technical expertise in MEP systems, project‑management capabilities (scheduling, budgeting, resource allocation), problem‑solving, strong communication, ability to read construction drawings, commissioning experience, and knowledge of sustainability practices.
Preferred qualifications are a professional engineering license, PMP certification, experience with LEED/WELL certification, familiarity with construction contracts, procurement processes and construction‑management software.
