Master Scheduler

Description

The Master Scheduler develops, maintains and executes detailed production schedules across multiple work centers to ensure timely product delivery. The role works closely with production, supply chain, inspection, purchasing and focus‑factory teams to manage priorities, resolve material shortages and optimize workflow. The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive and thrives in a fast‑paced manufacturing setting.

• Conduct daily morning check‑ins and walkthroughs of work centers to monitor job status, material availability, and machine readiness.
• Participate in production huddles and Value Stream meetings, coordinating with focus‑factory managers and inspection teams.
• Update supply‑chain shortage files, submit stockroom replenishment requests, and drive 100 % material availability.
• Schedule, label, and prioritize jobs for gateway work centers, coordinating multi‑operation parts and night‑shift plans.
• Review and release jobs based on MRP data and forecasted raw‑material availability.
• Collaborate with OP buyers and purchasing to expedite items, arrange drop shipments, and track purchase‑order status.
• Support lights‑out machining projects, analyze material usage trends, and prevent stockouts.
• Respond to critical emails, provide estimated completion dates, and resolve machine‑shop issues.
• Maintain the main shortage file and plan next‑day work.
• Assist cross‑functional teams such as ECO support and configuration management.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, operations management, engineering or equivalent experience.
• 3–5 years’ production planning or scheduling experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of MRP systems, production workflows and material planning.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and ERP systems (APCS/BPCS, Oracle, Epicor, etc.).
• Excellent communication, organization, problem‑solving and decision‑making skills.
• Ability to interpret blueprints and understand machine‑shop operations.
• Preferred experience in foundry, machining or fabrication planning and lean manufacturing.
• Expertise in production planning and scheduling.
• Strong analytical and data‑interpretation abilities.
• Collaborative, team‑oriented mindset with high attention to detail.
• Effective time management and adaptability in fast‑paced environments.
