  • Proactively convey company updates using a variety of communication mediums that adhere to current disclosure requirements and answer inquiries in a responsive, professional, and timely manner.
  • Prepare periodic or ad-hoc reporting on Northland and peers’ market activities for the CEO and CFO
  • Support the financial reporting team by providing reviews and guidance on relevant event disclosures and assessment of key financial metrics.
  • Ensure all external presentations, the IR section of the Northland website, and investor and equity analyst communications are planned, and managed effectively on a day-to-day basis.
  • Work with the legal and communications teams for the Annual General Meeting of Shareholders including monitoring proxy status and any required shareholder engagement.
  • Create succinct and highly insightful quarterly reporting to the Management Committee and Board of Directors, including all investor relations KPI progress, market insight, and opportunities to improve the long-term value of Northland.
  • Participate as a member of the Disclosure Committee and be involved in MD&A and Financial Statement disclosure discussions with senior management.
  • Design and manage a multi-year investor relations plan, the delivery of all key initiatives, and a roadmap to achieving and maintaining full valuation of Northland for investors.
  • Work closely with the CEO, CFO, VP Financial Planning & Analysis and SVP of Capital Markets team to create an annual investor relations strategy, and corresponding annual IR scorecard, including all analyst coverage, investor meetings, and targets.
  • Act as the shareholder contact, building relationships with members of the investment community including analysts, bankers, institutional sales desks, retail investors and proxy firms.
  • Plan and organize investor day, roadshows and identify appropriate industry and financial events that would benefit from senior management team attendance.

  • A strong communicator: You have excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to translate financial analytics into clear and insightful recommendations to tell the story beyond the numbers.
  • Understanding economics, capital markets, and applied investment and valuation methodologies used by the investment community.
  • Detail-oriented: You have demonstrated experience of being hands-on enough to understand the details but can also employ such details to provide business analysis and insight to the CFO to support/inform key business decisions.
  • Minimum 7 years prior experience in power, infrastructure, development or similar business preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, economics, engineering, or related field; CPA, CFA, or other advanced designations considered an asset.
  • Experience in equity research and banking.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel and experience with financial modeling.
  • A strategic thinker: You can translate company specific and external industry data into key strategic insights that drive forward-thinking business decisions. You can clearly articulate and communicate our company’s strategy, mission, and vision.
  • Creative: You use open thinking to generate and support new or better ways of doing things and can recommend tools and processes to help us scale for the future.
  • Collaborative: You have strong business partnership experience at the executive level and can easily develop partnerships both within Northland and with external banks and analysts. You demonstrate a commitment to our shared success above any individual achievements.
  • Strong business acumen to articulate and understand how investors may evaluate Northland’s activities.
