Assist with field inspections and regular reporting on in‑service bridges throughout North Carolina.
Support design and plan preparation for new and replacement bridges and structures in the region.
Develop awareness of standard practices, techniques, and procedures under supervision.
Research alternate solutions and design options, including white‑paper research and code review.
Provide analysis to support development of design ideas and solutions.
Communicate and collaborate with the full design team and other stakeholders.
Support development of work products such as specifications, drawings, and illustrative graphics.
Follow detailed instructions and technical approaches for design tasks.
Develop detail edits and adhere to QMS procedures.
Prepare designs, calculations, sketches, schematic and working drawings.

AECOM’s Transportation team in Raleigh is seeking an Entry‑Level Bridge Engineer to support bridge and structure projects across North Carolina and the southeastern United States, working under senior staff and collaborating with multidisciplinary design teams.

Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field, possess a valid U.S. driver’s license, and meet AECOM’s motor‑vehicle‑record requirements. Preferred skills include proficiency with Microsoft Office, CADD software such as MicroStation or AutoCAD, strong communication abilities, and experience with structural design or analysis tools.

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
Valid U.S. driver’s license and successful motor‑vehicle‑records review.
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
Experience or training in CADD programs (e.g., MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer, OpenBridge Designer, AutoCAD).
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Experience with structural design and/or analysis software.
